i don't agree with what Pat said, in my opinion christianity did nothing progressive for the slaves, because what it actually did was modernise te whole slave system. The doctrine for the most part thought our forefathers to accept their hard labour and adopt practices of false hope in praying for freedom that never really came, if u teach a slave to accept his punishment e.g. if your eenemy slaps u on one cheek turn theother to him, that is exactly what happens, your master hits u u can't fight back just accept and pray. now the slavery practice of today is now known as neo-colonialism.
i would tend to agree with the latter comment, but i see with Pat, i mean some of us would only accept what we know and not seek to find deeper truth by looking further.

i don't think some persons truly understand the concept of slavery, if we look closely at our situation or better yet that of the world....man we ain't neva gonna be free until we unite as a ppl, christianity aint done nothin but covered up the truth.
well to you Francne i ask this what is your definiton of peace of mind, if then to now we are still unsettled as a people how do define peace of mind, word of advice " its more than just a state of being"
well for all i can remember christianity was put into the slave camps in order to bring peace and order among the slaves on the plantations.
